Paper Turns To Judge For 911 Tape In Fayetteville Shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A local newspaper is filing suit against the Fayetteville Police Department to get recordings of a recent 911 call.

The Fayetteville Observer

wants the department to release the tape related to the shooting of Marine reservist John Lake last week. The paper said it believes the call came from Steve Satisky, a former city councilman and a member of the local ABC Board.

Satisky is under investigation in connection with the shooting of Lake outside a sports bar on Bragg Boulevard. The incident left Lake critically injured.

No charges have been filed.
