SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Sampson County man will spend the rest of his life in jail for killing a popular store owner.
Daniel Riley was recently convicted of killing R.B. Matthews during a robbery attempt and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Matthews' body was found outside his country store last February.
Riley was arrested a short time later following a tip.
