FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville restaurant manager who denied service to a legally blind veteran offered an apology, but it was rejected by the veteran's wife.
Sgt. Maj. Colin Rich claims he was recently denied service at Tony's Pizza. The manager said he would not let the soldier in with his service dog. The manager said he did not know about federal laws that allow service dogs in businesses.
After the story aired Tuesday, the manager called the family to apologize. The soldier's wife answered the phone, but hung up.
The pizza restaurant has been getting threatening phone calls. The manager wants people to know it was an honest mistake.
