Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — After months of debate, a Wal-Mart Super Center is coming to Southeast Raleigh.

The Raleigh City Council approved the plan Tuesday over the opposition of a council committee. The store will be located at the corner of Rocky Quarry and Sunnybrook roads.

Council Member James West, who represents the district, said he believes the Wal-Mart could jumpstart economic development in the area.
