Authorities Find Body In Durham Creek

DURHAM, N.C. — Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in a creek in Durham.

The body of a middle-aged man was found in Ellerbee Creek off a path between Stadium Drive and Murray Avenue at around 5 p.m. Monday, police said.

The body may have been in the creek for several days, police said.

Police said there were no signs of foul play. The case is being treated as a death investigation, and the body has been taken to the N.C. Medical Examiner's Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.

Police identified the body, but the man's name has not been released, pending notification of his family.
