Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Part Of Johnston County

Posted Updated

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Some residents in Johnston County do not have to boil their water anymore.

A boil water advisory was in effect for several days for residents living on New Bethel Road from Cornwallis Road to the Wake County line.

The advisory was issued as a precaution while crews worked on the main water line for the U.S. Highway 70 Clayton bypass project.

Officials with the Johnston County Utility Department said all bacteriological samples were negative for coliform bacteria.
