CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — People in one of the state's fastest growing counties are trying to stop a proposed gated community.
Chatham County residents spoke out Tuesday against plans to develop a tract of land along Jordan Lake. They say it will cause ecological damage and create more traffic.
Developers said over half of the land will be open space and it will help boost the county's economy.
A vote is scheduled in March.
