WRAL Captures Inmates' Capture On Film
HENDERSON, N.C. — An inmate who escaped from the Vance County Jail over the weekend was back behind bars Tuesday.

Deputies arrested John Williams at 11:20 a.m. in a vacant house less than a block from the jail.

According to Sheriff Tom Breedlove, Williams had been traveling around Henderson since his escape Saturday. Breedlove believes someone Williams knew transported him to the vacant house.

Deputies are searching for the person they say helped Williams.

Saturday, Williams and four other inmates escaped after beating up two guards, climbing to the roof and over a barbed-wire fence, and then jumping to freedom.

Deputies arrested the four other fugitives at a nearby house the same night.

Williams, serving a sentence for armed robbery, faces additional charges related to the escape.
