ST. PAULS, N.C. — Two people were killed and two injured in a two-vehicle collision blamed on a slick road Sunday in Robeson County.
The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at 1-95 and Barker 10 Mile Road outside of Lumberton. Investigators said a car slid on a patch of ice, crossed the center line and hit a pick-up truck head on.
Lisa Espinoza, 25, and Paula Santiago, 22, both of St. Pauls, were killed.
Victor Garcia, 22, was treated at South Eastern Regional Medical Center and released. Sean Britt, 18, was being treated for minor injuries at South Eastern Regional Medical Center.
Charges were pending Sunday night.
