RALEIGH, N.C. — As snow and ice piled up in Wake County on Sunday, accidents piled up between Hammond and Rock Quarry roads.
The driver of a car lost control and flipped over the guardrail. He was pinned inside his vehicle for nearly an hour. Firefighters had to cut him out, but he went to the hospital with only minor injuries.
At the same time authorities were working at that scene, Raleigh police were working at least eight other accidents, within less than half a mile of each other, in that area.
