Boyfriend sought in fatal Scotland County father/daughter stabbing
Scotland County authorities are searching for a person of interest in the stabbing deaths of a father and his daughter inside their home Wednesday evening.
Posted — UpdatedNeighbors found the bodies of Arthur Wright, 77, and Tammy Wright, 48, in the home at 21800 Omah Hill Road, north of Laurel Hill, at about 5:30 p.m., Sheriff Shep Jones said.
He said it's unclear when they were killed.
Deputies were searching for Tammy Wright's live-in boyfriend, Steven Craig English, 43, who they said is a person of interest in the crime.
English is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs about 195 pounds, has blue eyes and blonde, brown and gray hair. He might have stolen Arthur Wright's blue 2004 Buick Century, Jones said.
Investigators haven't determined a motive for the slayings.
Neighbors said that Arthur Wright had a stroke and that his daughter was taking care of him.
They owned a local store, J.R. Grill and Grocery, at the corner of McFarland and Marston road, about four miles north of Laurel Hill.
Neighbor Kim Bridgeman described Arthur Wright as a good Christian man and said she had no idea why anyone would want to hurt him.
