HOPE MILLS, N.C. — It is going to take a little longer than expected to repair the dam at Hope Mills Lake.
Engineers plan to present a final design by March, but construction is not scheduled to begin until October.
The dam collapsed after heavy rains over the Memorial Day weekend.
The state donated $5.8 million in disaster relief to offset the nearly $7 million tab.
