WILSON, N.C. — The Highway Patrol is investigating an accident involving a tanker truck.
According to troopers at the scene, the truck, carrying propane fuel, overturned 10:15 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 42 near I-95. There reportedly was no leakage of fuel.
The driver of the truck was identified as 39-year-old Julia Griffin, of Wilson. She was was taken to Wilson Medical Center and then airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Griffin's truck reportedly ran off the road to the right twice, and Griffin was thrown partially out it.
