VANCE COUNTY, N.C. — The old law enforcement theme, "take a bite out of crime," became a bit too real for the Vance County sheriff.
Sheriff Thomas Breedlove was attacked by a dog over the weekend when he approached the home of a man he was trying to arrest.
Breedlove was treated in the emergency room of a local hospital and released.
Breedlove later found the dog's owner in Oxford at his mother's house.
