Harnett Beauty Queen Recovers From Brain Surgery

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — A local beauty queen is recovering from brain surgery.

Miss Erwin-Harnett County Brooke McLaurin had a lump removed from her brain Wednesday. It was part of a tumor doctors began taking out last year.

McLaurin is alert and resting comfortably at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Her mother said she plans to attend February's Miss Erwin-Harnett County pageant.
