Chapel Hill Teacher Arrested For Assault

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro School System has confirmed that a teacher at East Chapel Hill High School was arrested over the weekend for assault on a female.

According to police, Mark Kadlecik, who teaches Health and Physical Education, was arrested around 2 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to the Orange County jail and later released.

Kadlecik made his first court appearance Monday. He is due back in court Feb. 16.

Kadlecik has been suspended with pay. School officials said he is not allowed back into the classroom until the police investigation is complete.
