A Harnett County girl, who lost most of her family in a car accident in Georgia, is getting a much-needed boost from her classmates.

Maria Perez, 10, lost her father and two siblings when the vehicle she was in crashed with another car in Georgia.

Maria, who was supposed to be back in class in Harnett County, is in a Georgia hospital recovering from her injuries. In an effort to cheer her up, Maria's classmates made a video wishing her well and providing her with support.

"We kept on talking about it -- if she's doing OK," said Leanesha McKoy, Maria's classmate.

"We really want her to get better and that's why we did that, so she would get better," said Sarah Whitman, Maria's classmate.

The students plan to send it to Maria's hospital. Doctors at a Georgia hospital moved Maria out of intensive care. Doctors said she has been asking about her family, but they have not told her the news yet.

Maria's mother, who was also in the accident, is recovering from her injuries at a Jacksonville, Fla., hospital. There is no word on her condition.
