NASHVILLE, N.C. — A Nash County deputy was involved in an accident on a slick road Friday morning.
According to the sheriff, the accident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Highway 64 between Momeyer and Nashville. Deputy George Kerney was on his way to work when he lost control of his patrol car, ran off the road and hit a tree
Kerney reportedly was alert while being transported to Nash General Hospital. The sheriff said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Kerney has been with the Nash County Sheriff's Office for two years. Before that, he worked in the county jail.
