e-mail print friendly

Investigators say a tip that could have cracked the Baby Christopher case did not pan out.

Authorities said someone called them over the weekend and gave a suspect's name and description. After investigators talked to the person, they realized that woman was still pregnant.

Investigators have been working weekends and holidays to piece together the case of Baby Christopher.

After workers at a recycling plant found the body of the infant among stacks of cardboard, investigators took a closer look at the trash surrounding him. They traced Christopher back to a convenience store Dumpster.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a funeral for Baby Christopher is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 15, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church on Bow Street in Fayetteville. The burial will be at Hair's Chapel Church cemetery on Duck Pond Road in Linden.
