CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cats and dogs are not supposed to get along, but that is not true for one Cumberland County pooch.
Dawn Barfield's cat had to be put to sleep after the cat's kittens were born, so the family's dog, a dachsund/silky terrier mix, took over nursing duties.
The dog had her own puppies just nine months ago.
