Wake County Deputies Say Burglary Suspect Possibly Linked To Several Break-Ins

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff's Office has arrested Gregory Moody, aka Cody Michael Sherron, for a break-in that occurred at Buffaloe Fuels about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Moody allegedly had rammed the store's doors with his van until he broke the doors apart. Deputies believe he then entered the store and stole multiple cartons of cigarettes.

Investigators had developed leads about Moody and issued warrants for his arrest.

Deputies had spotted him in the Riley Hill area, chased him for a short time, but then lost him. They continued their search, found him at a Zebulon address and arrested him at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Moody has been charged with breaking-and-entering and felonious larceny.

While they processed the van Moody was driving, investigators discovered stolen property from a crime committed in Garner on Wednesday. The sheriff's office is working with the Garner Police Department on that case.

The Raleigh Police Department also has expressed interested in Moody as a possible suspect in similar burglaries in Raleigh.

Because Moody may have been involved in other crimes, the sheriff's office is asking anyone who may have seen his van to call investigator Larry Hancock at

856-6800.

The van is a two-tone light blue Ford Aerostar van with a silver inset, license plate number: SRF-4510.

Moody was in the Wake County jail Thursday night under a $5,000 secured bond.
