LEE COUNTY, N.C. — A 4-year-old boy from Lee County is dead after he was accidentally run over by a van driven by his father Sunday afternoon.
Deputies said Aaron Heck was trying to close the sliding door of the van and fell out as his father was moving the vehicle.
The boy apparently got into the van without his father's knowledge.Sherod Heck claims he did not see his son.
The boy was pronounced dead at Central Carolina Hospital.
