'Skate With Clay' Registration Takes Place Saturday

Want to go skating with Clay Aiken?

Fifty children with disabilities will be sharing the ice with 50 non-disabled children during the "Skate With Clay" event at the RBC Center in Raleigh on Dec. 21.

Registration for non-disabled children will be held Saturday, Dec. 13 at 8 a.m. at the Banks D. Kerr YMCA at 2500 Wakefield Pines Drive in Raleigh.

Only one child per family may be registered. No exceptions will be allowed.

Children must be between the ages of five and 18, and must be registered by a parent or a legal guardian.

The first 50 children will be accepted. Selection will be made on a first come, first serve basis.

Activities on Dec. 21, the day of the skate, will begin with a pre-gathering from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Banks D. Kerr Family YMCA where specially-created hockey jerseys and holiday bags will await the skaters. Afterwards, the skaters will go to the RBC Center where Aiken will join them on the ice from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The event celebrates the partnership between

The Bubel/Aiken Foundation

and the Carolina Hurricanes' Kids N' Community Foundation.
