Triangle Men Charged With Violating Virginia Anti-Spam Law

RALEIGH, N.C. — Virginia has charged two men from the Triangle with violating its tough new anti-spam law.

One of the men, Jeremy Jaynes is listed as No. 8 on a registry of known spammers. Authorities said Jaynes and Richard Rutowski sent hundreds of thousands of unsolicited e-mail.

Jaynes lives in Raleigh and Rutowski lives in Cary.

Virginia prosecutors said this is the nation's first felony indictment for spam.
