SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A Smithfield man accused of murdering his former boss was arrested Tuesday night on his way home from Virginia.
Johnston County deputies picked up Sean Castorina around 8:30 p.m near Smithfield. Authorities believe Castorina killed Sean Nichols and left his body in a field off Fire Tower Road.
Castorina is being held in the Johnston County jail on first-degree murder charges.
Nichols' body was found Monday in a field off Fire Tower Road after deputies received an anonymous tip. According to the sheriff's office, Nichols was last seen Nov. 6 in Wilson Mills and reported missing Nov. 10.
Castorina, of Smithfield, is a former employee and frequent hunting partner of Nichols'.
