Flying Out Of RDU International Can Be Expensive Ticket

Out of the 50 largest airports in the country, RDU International had the biggest fare increase the first half of this year at more than 13 percent.

The average one-way ticket cost just under $130. America West Airlines had the highest one-way fare at about $155. Airtran had the cheapest at about $85.

Experts blame the increase on a drop in the number of available seats out of RDU.

WRAL checked the cost of some flights on Travelocity Monday afternoon. A round-trip flight from RDU to Orlando ranged from $181 to $469. A round-trip flight from RDU to New York LaGuardia ranged from $180 to $206.
