Contractors Hurt In Fall

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two contractors were injured Friday after falling out of a bucket approximately three stories above the ground.

The two men were installing vents at an apartment complex on Lead Mine Road. They were in a "lull lift" -- which resembles a fork lift with a big bucket attached.

The operator of the lift, who was on the ground, said he believed a tire on the lift blew, causing the bucket to tilt.

Both men who fell were taken to WakeMed. They reportedly were not wearing safety harnesses, as required.
