UNC Involved In Land Swap With Town Councilman

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — UNC-Chapel Hill is involved in a property swap and payoff with a newly elected town councilman.

Cam Hill is swapping his old house on Cameron Avenue for a university-owned house on Rosemary Street. The school has been trying to get Hill's Cameron Avenue property for the last five years.

UNC plans to pay Hill $100,000 to make up for the difference in the appraised value of the properties. The school plans to replace Hill's home with an employee parking lot.

The deal still has to be approved by the board of governors.
