Raleigh Workers Receive Raises

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raises are on the way for some Raleigh workers.

The City Council approved the raises Tuesday, which means raising minimum pay ranges an extra 6 percent for police officers, 11 percent for firefighters and 20 percent for other workers during the next couple of years.

The City Council also agreed to a 5 percent increase for the city's longest serving and highest paid workers. They will now be eligible for merit raises in January.
