Durham Officer Injured in Car Crash

WRAL News
A Durham officer was hospitalized late Thursday evening after his police cruiser was involved in a collision with a truck.

According to authorities, Officer Timothy Wyatt was responding to a call at around 10:30 p.m. when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Spruce and Liberty streets.

Wyatt's cruiser struck a pickup truck driven by Louis Waller. The impact of the accident caused the cruiser to hit a tree, then striking the foundation of a vacant house.

Wyatt and Waller suffered minor injuries. Police have not filed any charges, but are still investigating the accident.
