RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh's Clay Aiken may have red hair, but he is on his way to going platinum.
Aiken is 20,000 CDs shy of selling one million copies.
In just over three weeks, "Measure of A Man" has sold nearly 980,000 copies. According to RCA, it is the highest-selling debut album since 1993, when Snoop Dogg released "Doggy Style". It is also the third fastest-selling album this year.
Aiken will return to Raleigh Nov. 22 to serve as grand marshal of the Raleigh Christmas Parade. He will also be part of the procession in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
