Inmate Disciplined After Altercation With Mike Peterson

DURHAM, N.C. — The man who assaulted novelist Mike Peterson in prison has lost his privileges.

Larry L. Wade was found guilty at a disciplinary hearing. Last week, Wade attacked Peterson as he sat in his cell at Nash Correctional Institution.

Peterson was taken to the hospital for observation, but he was not seriously hurt.

Wade has been sentenced to 60 days of disciplinary segregation, 70 hours of extra duty, a six-month suspension of visitation, telephone and canteen privileges.

Peterson is serving a life sentence for killing his wife, Kathleen.
