Durham Police Chief's Daughter Indicted

The daughter of Durham Police Chief Steve Chalmers was in indicted Monday for allegedly assaulting a woman with a vehicle.

DURHAM, N.C. — The daughter of Durham Police Chief Steve Chalmers was in indicted Monday for allegedly assaulting a woman with a vehicle.

The charge of felony assault with a deadly weapon charge stems from an April incident involving Stefanie Chalmers, 26. She was charged in June.

The attorney general's Special Prosecutions Unit is handling the case at the request of the Durham district attorney.
