CARY, N.C. — A traffic accident caused a major traffic mess in Western Wake County Friday afternoon.
As of 5 p.m., all lanes of Highway 55 were closed from High House Road to Jenks Road so that power crews could repair damage caused by the accident.
A detour was in place, with traffic being sent from High House to Green Level Road, to Green Level Church Road, to Roberts Road, and back to Jenks.
The accident involving a truck occurred around noon, taking out some power poles. According to the
Department of Transportation,
the road is expected to re-open late Friday night.
