RALEIGH, N.C. — Defense attorney David Rudolf said he will represent convicted murderer Mike Peterson on appeal, even though Peterson said he has no money to pay.
Peterson filed papers Thursday asking for free legal counsel to help with his appeal.
Peterson was convicted Oct. 10 of killing his wife, Kathleen. Her body was found at the bottom of a staircase in the couple's Durham home in Dec. 2001.
