Several Units Damaged In Raleigh Fire

RALEIGH,N.C. — An early-morning fire caused $100,000 in damage to three units of an apartment building near North Carolina State University.

Fire crews said it appeared the fire at the Trees and Leaves apartment complex on Kent Road was reported at 12:45 a.m. Officials believe it started in the living room area near a couch; however, the cause of the fire has not been determined.

The fire was contained to one unit, but two others suffered smoke and water damage.

The residents were not home at the time.
