RALEIGH,N.C. — Fairgoers can get a break on admission and help a good cause Thursday.
Visitors to the North Carolina State Fair can exchange four cans of Thrify-Maid canned foods available at Winn-Dixie stores for free adult or child admission to the fair.
The 11th annual fair food drive benefits the Food Bank of North Carolina.
Collection boxes are in place at fair gates and the National Guard will be on hand to help.
In the past 10 years, fairgoers have donated over 1.7 million pounds of food. The goal this year is to raise over 200,000 pounds of food.
