Jury Finds Man Guilty In Death Of Raleigh Laundromat Owner

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Jurors returned a guilty verdict Wednesday for a man on trial in the first-degree murder of a Raleigh Laundromat owner.

Jurors say Armondo Ortez killed owner Nguyen Truong during a robbery in 2001. Troung was stabbed 56 times.

The state wants the death penalty, but the jury will consider defense testimony that Ortez's mental skills are diminished.
