GARNER, N.C. — A mother and son are accused of breaking into a Garner church.
Garner police arrested Tracy Strickland, 37, and her son, Christopher, 19, of Princeton, after they were found inside the First Church of the Nazarene early Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to the church around 4 a.m. after a nearby resident called 911 to report suspicious activity. Officers found lawn equipment inside a 1989 GMC van driven by the Stricklands.
The mother and son were both charged with felonious breaking and entering and felony larceny. Each are being held at the Wake County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
Additional charges may be forthcoming. According to an investigator, the Stricklands may have been involved in other residential burglaries.
