Cumberland Authorities Release Composite In Jewelry Store Heist

print friendly

One person is jailed in a robbery at a jewelry store in Cumberland County, but police do not think he is the one who shot the store owner.

Authorities say Leforice Blue, along with an unknown black male, were in Parker's Jewelry Store in Stedman around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The unknown black male later returned around 3 p.m. and shot and robbed Parker. Parker was released from the hospital Tuesday.

Investigators later arrested Blue, but they do not think he shot Parker.

"There's certainly some sort of association that we're trying to figure out what it is and, of course, who this person is," said Sam Pennica, of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Officers have charged Blue with "accessory after the fact" and they are looking for the alleged gunman. He is described as a black male about medium height, 45 to 55 years of age and medium build. The suspect is also described as having an unkempt beard approximately 1 to 1.5 inches long, short hair with a receding hair line and deep voice.

The description comes from a customer who got caught in the middle of the robbery, but was not hurt.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect should call the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at

(910) 323-1500

or Fayetteville Crime Stoppers at

(910) 483-8477
