RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man has been charged with trying to kill a man by repeatedly running him over with his tow truck.
Witnesses say Shawn Graham and Hamilton Palmer pulled over to the side of the road on New Bern Avenue Saturday night and got into a verbal confrontation. They say Graham did not get out of his truck, but instead struck Palmer and took off onto the Beltline.
Police say witnesses chased Graham around the Beltline for about 30 minutes and alerted the Highway Patrol. State troopers were able to catch up with Graham near the state fairgrounds.
Graham was arrested, but he was released on $75,000 bond.
Graham, who declined to speak with WRAL, left court Monday in his tow truck. He is scheduled to be back in court Nov. 10.
Palmer is listed in serious condition at WakeMed with several broken bones, along with internal and facial injuries.
