WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Wake County Schools have already started working on a plan to build 13 new schools by 2008.
Voters approved
a $450 million bond referendum on Oct. 7 to fund those schools and dozens of repair projects.
Four sites have been picked out on the west side of the county. The district is looking at seven more locations to the east. Two sites are still undetermined.
Renovations and construction will become part of the curriculum for years to come.
School leaders said 60,000 more students are expected to move into Wake County by 2020.
