Former Students Charged With Vandalizing Clayton High School

CLAYTON, N.C. — Three former Clayton High School students have been arrested in connection with vandalism at the school last month.

Clayton police said Charles Franklin Gerhart, 18, of Clayton; Gregory John Sutton, 19, of Clayton; and Joel Horan Besigel, 17, of Cary, turned themselves in to police and were later released on bond.

All are charged with one count of injury to real property, one count of breaking and entering, and one count of larceny.

Police said the teens stole electronic equipment belonging to the school's sports department and smashed windows.
