Chatham County Residents May Have Won Annexation Battle Against Cary

Posted Updated

CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Eastern Chatham County residents may have won their expansion battle against Cary.

Cary town planners were developing a land-use proposal for 14,000 acres of rural Chatham County near Jordan Lake. About 100 residents came together last week to fight the annexation.

Cary planners told Chatham County commissioners Monday that they are pulling the proposal off the table.

The Cary Town Council will vote on that recommendation Thursday.
