CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Three years ago, the state started testing wells for arsenic and officials claim nearly 1,000 of them showed signs of contamination. For one Cumberland County neighborhood, the problem hits close to home.
Some residents of Gray's Creek were told not to drink the water because of the high arsenic levels.
Residents may get to tap into the public water supply, but officials say that could cost between $8,000 to $10,000.
