Durham Police Seek Suspect In Vehicle Break-In

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators are trying to find 34-year-old Kenneth Florence, who is wanted in connection with a vehicle break-in at The Home Depot on Mount Moriah Road.

Florence is charged with breaking into a work van in the parking lot around 2 p.m. Sept. 19.

The owners of the van came out of the store and saw a man identified as Florence breaking into their van. As the owners approached, the man jumped into a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass occupied by a another man and a woman.

As the Cutlass pulled away, it struck one of the van's owners, knocking her over the hood of the car. She suffered minor injuries.

Investigators have arrested 41-year-old Joseph Cotton, of no known address, and 48-year-old Karen Parks, of Carrboro, in connection with the incident. The two are charged with felony aiding and abetting.

Cotton also was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Florence, whose last known address was on U.S. 15-501 North in Chapel Hill, has been charged with felony breaking and entering into to a motor vehicle.
