RALEIGH, N.C. — A visitation is scheduled Friday night for a Harnett County deputy who was killed in a car crash earlier this week.
Deputy John Strickland was responding to a call when he lost control of his cruiser and hit a tree. He had just retired from the Army and was starting a new career in law enforcement.
Strickland's family will receive friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday at Adcock Funeral Home in Cumberland County. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday morning at 11 at Triton High School in Erwin.
