DURHAM, N.C. — People looking for a coffee or a snack at Fowler's gourmet market will be turned away.

Sheriff's deputies closed the popular sandwich shop Wednesday and then changed its locks.

The downtown store, located across from Brightleaf Square, owes more than $50,000 in state sales tax and penalties.

According to court records, Fowler's also owes vendors hundreds of thousands of dollars.
