MANTEO, N.C. — The
Wright Brothers National Memorial
will reopen at noon Thursday after a week-long closure due to Hurricane Isabel.
The
Fort Raleigh National Historic Site
and
Cape Hatteras National Seashore
remain closed while recovery efforts continue.
According to the National Park Service, damage from Isabel at the Wright Brothers Memorial was minimal.
All facilities will be open Thursday, including the visitor center, the First Flight Centennial Pavilion, the First Flight Airstrip and the associated pilot facility. The park will resume normal daily operation schedule of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
