Cumberland Chief Jailer Returns To Work After Suspension

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The head of the Cumberland County Jail is back at work.

Maj. Dan Ford was suspended for five days without pay as punishment for problems at the facility.

The detention center has only been open for seven months, but it has already had two inmates let out by mistake, suicides, problems with inmates receiving drugs and an alleged sex scandal between jailers and inmates.
